Not All Sanitisers Are Created Equal
In little more than a month, the humble hand sanitiser has quickly become one of the most in-demand items across the globe. But not all sanitisers are created equal... Let's break down what makes ours so special!
1. Alcohol Content
The alcohol content varies in hand sanitisers — and sometimes it isn't enough to be effective. You should be looking at a percentage of at least 60, as recommended by the CDC, but the WHO or World Health Organisation recommends a sanitiser with 70–80 percent alcohol — the optimal level required to kill the virus if it is on your hands.
This is because research shows that formulas with alcohol concentrated at 70% has the optimal amount of water in it to allow it to penetrate the cell membrane more completely which permeates the entire cell, coagulates all proteins, and therefore the microorganism dies.
That's why at Bright Lab Sydney, all our formulations have an ethanol concentration of 70%. Not too High, Not too Low!
2. Non-drying Formula
We all know the how drying alcohol can be on skin, especially with routine usage. Most standard sanitisers leave hands super dehydrated due to the chemicals and high alcohol content. So in response, we've created an antibacterial range that not only kills 99.99% of bacteria and germs without soap or water, but also leaves hands refreshed, moisturised and hygienically clean.
At Bright Lab Sydney, we focus on a natural yet effective approach to hand sanitisers. Our Hygiene Kit #83 Antibacterial Hand Sanitiser Spray and #84 Hydra Hand Sanitiser are both formulated with Premium Organic Essential Oil from Native Australian Lemon Myrtle and Hydrating Aloe Vera Extract.
3. No Hidden Nasties!
If your hand sanitiser is scented, then it's likely loaded with toxic chemicals. Most companies aren't required to disclose the ingredients that make up their secret scents, and therefore generally are made from dozens of chemicals. Most sanitisers that are scented with synthetic fragrances contain phthalates, which are endocrine disrupters that mimic hormones and could alter genital development. You should also look out for parabens, which are in many skincare products. They are used to preserve other ingredients and extend a product's shelf life.
We use natural fragrance derived from Organic Lemon Myrtle Essential Oil, nothing more, nothing less. The uniquely powerful Australian Lemon Myrtle essential oil, a premium oil with powerful antiseptic properties has been used for hundreds of years as a natural remedy by the native Australian people for it's various health benefits and uplifting aroma.
Our formulations are simple yet effective. What you see is what you get! We're made without harsh chemical residues, parabens, phthalates, artificial fragrance or synthetic colours, Bright Lab Sydney offers consumers the choice of skincare that not only protect against bacteria and environmental stressors, but also cherish with these skin-refreshing ingredients.
In this moment, looking after personal hygiene is incredibly important, not only for ourselves, but also for the people around us. Invest in a product that not only protects but also heals.
